About the Editor

Dr. Narender Nagarwal teaches law at Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi. Starting his academic life at the University of North Bengal, Darjeeling, West Bengal, He has also taught law at Pondicherry Central University, Puducherry (UT).

He has a special research interest in Constitutional Law and Human Rights. His work on minorities law and the law relating to freedom of religion has opened up new areas of research on the conceptions of Minorities Law in India and South Asia. He has authored many research papers, articles, journals and book chapters and frequently writes on critical areas and issues surrounding secularism, media law and State crime.

Currently, he is working on India’s strategic relations and foreign policy, measures to prevent and combat terrorism, the emerging role of state institutions, governance issues including human rights mechanisms and the changing role of the judicial system in India.

About the Book

Title: Citizenship Amendment Act 2019, Minorities and Democracy in India

The monograph aims to engage with human rights issues of minorities and other vulnerable groups of India. Encompassing diverse areas and new insights, this will generate a healthy and thoughtful debate among scholars, academicians and professionals on the current framework of the Citizenship Amendment Act 2019 and how they perceive this crucial legislation through constitutional, democratic and human rights perspective.

Aiming to develop human rights and peacebuilding options in India’s multicultural and pluralistic society, the proposed book shall provide fresh insights and suggestions towards reconciling the concerns of the diverse groups of our society.

Targeted Audience

The basic theme of the book is constitutional law and human rights; hence law scholars, lawyers, academicians and human rights activists are the natural audience of the proposed work. The book would also seek to attract scholars and academicians of sociology, political science, international relations as well as general readers.

The book undertakes a critical analysis of the certain issues surrounding citizenship law, secularism, minorities rights and democratic values with a research-based approach to unravel the unexplored facts and provide fresh insights relating to it. This would generate great interest among the readers for the book.

Submission Guidelines

  • The Chapter must contain an Abstract of 250 words and Keywords.
  • The chapter must mention the Author details. Only one Co-author shall be allowed.
  • The Chapter must be between 4000 to 6000 words; including footnotes.
  • The Chapter must be in Times New Roman Font; Size 12, Foot Note Size 10.
  • Citation and Referencing shall be SAGE HARVARD Style Footnotes,
  • There is a Zero Tolerance Policy towards Plagiarism/Infringement of Copyrights. Authors shall be responsible for all referencing and they shall have to take due permissions from authors and publishers for referencing.
  • All chapters shall be subject to intense plagiarism scrutiny.
  • Law(s) discussed in chapters must be updated and recent. The chapter must be properly structured, coherent, lucid and analytical.
  • The Chapters shall be screened by the Editor or a Peer Review Committee and they shall reserve their right to reject any submission.
  • The editor may make suitable and necessary changes to the submissions for betterment, efficiency and orientation.
  • The chapter should not have been published already, nor be currently under consideration elsewhere.
  • Fee: There are no fees payable to submit or publish in this Book.
