EJLS is pleased to announce its New Voices Prize 2020, which this year will include a €500 cash prize which will be awarded to the author of the best New Voices article submitted by an early-career scholar by 31 December 2020. For more details see here

Submissions :

EJLS accepts submissions for New Voices and General Articles on a rolling basis. Articles should be sent as Word files to [email protected].

EJLS accepts submissions in the fields of:

  • European law
  • International law
  • Comparative law
  • Legal theory
  1. We particularly welcome contextual and/or interdisciplinary approaches to legal scholarship.
  2. Submissions should follow the EJLS Style Guide.
  3. The Journal is also committed to multilingualism and accepts submissions in any language, subject to the capacity of the members of the current editorial board. Authors are requested to provide an abstract in English at the time of submission.
  4. In light of the journal’s open access policy, no publication fees are charged and all articles are freely available, with due acknowledgment of copyright, to download, copy and print as PDFs. Read more about our review process here.
  5. Before submitting an article to us, please read the EJLS Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement.
  6. By submitting your work for review to EJLS, you are committing to refrain from submission of this work to, or publication of this work in, any other journal, volume, platform or website, regardless of type and nature, for the entire duration of the review and publication process. In the event of rejection of the submission, this obligation shall be terminated. In the event of acceptance for publication of the submission, you will be asked to sign a Copyright License Agreement which provides for limited exceptions to this commitment.
  7. EJLS welcomes submissions that were published as working papers, provided that the paper was substantially revised prior to submission to EJLS. Authors shall inform the Managing Editor that the submission was published before as a working paper, failing which the submission may be identified as a case of plagiarism which results in the immediate rejection of the paper. If the submission is accepted for publication, authors must commit to replacing the working paper on all platforms where it appears with the final version of the paper as it will appear in EJLS, with mention that the paper is forthcoming, or was published, in EJLS.
  8. Authors publishing with EJLS are encouraged to register for an ORCID iD.
