The Andhra Pradesh High Court set aside the order of the Jaganmohan Reddy government in Andhra Pradesh. The order of the Jaganmohan Reddy government is that all government schools of Andhra Pradesh must be English Medium. The Andhra Pradesh High Court denied it on the basis that parents and children have a right to choice of language learning.
This decision of Reddy’s cause dissatisfaction not only in the politician but also the academics like Telugu Desam Party chief Chandrababu Naidu, Jana Sena’s Pawan Kalyan they are in favor to teach mother tongue. The Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu was also not in favor to convert government schools into English mediums.
The YSRCP government also planned that from classes 1 to 6 would be in English Medium in this 2020-2021 academic year While the remaining classes also converted into English Medium in the coming four years.
There are 44,512 schools are government school in Telugu State. In this school, the primary language Telugu is used. But if we convert government school into English Medium then we convert Telugu as a compulsory subject.
Reddy reacts to all these conversations that all these political leaders who are against my order really hypocrites. They sent their children high-class English Medium Schools but expect that the poor uphold the Telugu language.
The Government of India have challenged it through PIL and also other local BJP leader.
Reaction after the order of Andhra Pradesh Hogh Court, Andhra Pradesh School Education Minister Adimulapu Suresh stated that the plan is English Medium School is a very good step because every person wants that their children have the best education. For the English Medium School private School charge, high fees and a poor are unable to pay the school fee which is beyond the capacity.
Minister Stated that providing English Medium education to poor class people is a crime.TDP playing politics to the future of children.
After all, that government defends that we started the process to convert the government school into an English medium so we trained various school teachers for this change. We do that because we are preparing children for the future.
