We are looking for a Privacy Counsel in India to be part of our Global Privacy team, who can help us in implementing and maintaining a robust privacy program in India. We are a team of 5,000 ambitious, curious people building marketplace platforms that make it super easy for anyone to buy and sell almost anything, boosting local economies.
Who we’re looking for:
- Well-rounded problem solver with good project and stakeholder management skills, eager to work and learn in a fast-paced business and has the ability to negotiate through uncertainties.
- A qualified lawyer, having a law degree from an accredited university in India.
- 3-5 years’ experience in handling privacy issues at a top tier law firm or in a Multi-national Company.
- International privacy professional certification such as CIPP/E or its equivalent preferred but not required.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken). Other languages preferred but not required.
- Prior experience in handling privacy matters for countries other than India is preferred.
- Ability to work independently. While working on cross functional or international projects you should be ready to pick up small day to day tasks.
What you will be doing:
- Solving day to day privacy issues of a fast-paced customer facing business.
- Opportunity to closely work with Global core privacy team.
- Analysing new and existing business processes and infrastructure that involve collection, storage or transfer of personal information with the aim of to ensure that they are in compliance with applicable laws and global policies such as data handling guidelines, data retention policy etc.
- Sensitise and conduct awareness trainings for local business teams regarding our global privacy practices and our global data protection policies.
- Support regional business counsels in reviewing and drafting agreements from data privacy perspective.
