POSITION:   Senior Legal Manager


  • Law graduate from a reputable institution/university in India;
  • 6-8 years PQE;
  • Good knowledge of commercial contract laws and experience with supporting deals for global entities;
  • Basic understanding of intellectual property laws;
  • In-depth functional knowledge with an eye for detail;
  • Sound analytical skills to review information and identify issues;
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels;
  • Good drafting, negotiation and transactional skills;
  • Ability to work well independently; and
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.


  • Legal Counsel mainly dedicated to supporting [24]7 and its APAC business in general, with the following primary responsibilities:
  • Drafts and negotiates a variety of commercial transactions, including NDAs, procurement contracts, work orders, and contract amendments;
  • Manages commercial transactions from a legal/contracting perspective;
  • Participates in complex legal matters and projects including identifying legal and regulatory compliance issues;
  • Liaises with external consultants and government/regulatory authorities;
  • Provides written and oral legal advice to internal clients;
  • Anticipates and guards against legal risks;
  • Researches legal issues; and
  • Special projects on an as-needed basis.


Legal and commercial support

  • Preparing draft contracts and underlying documentation, negotiating and managing deals, attending negotiations where necessary in person, identifying key risk items for [24]7 and preparing documentation for escalation of legal recommendations to management;
  • Advising on a range of contracts including procurement, property leasing, software/technology services, staffing/outsourcing, employment and others;
  • Advising and providing training to the business regarding contract obligations, formulation and coordination of positions across different departments and upward reporting and escalation of issues;
  • Implementing and enforcing internal procedures relating to contracting;
  • Instructing external counsel and consultants; gathering input and advice; and
  • Establishing, together with the commercial management, the priority of requests for legal support.

Template and contract management

  • Supporting management of contract templates and internal procedures relating to internal stakeholder contracts;
  • Preparing template documentation including contracts, letters of intent and other preliminary contracts, negotiation guidelines, commercial proposals, non-disclosure agreements, template and contract change control documentation;
  • Maintaining contract documentation and guidelines up-to-date with legal developments, industry best practices, and [24]7 policies (coordinating as necessary with internal stakeholders as appropriate);
  • Coordinating with various business units to review and implement their input as it pertains to all documentation and policies;
  • Developing practical tools, templates and procedures to support risk management; and
  • Organizing and delivering staff training, guidance, etc. as and when required by business units and other teams in Legal.

Post-contractual support

  • Analyzing and advising on interpretation of existing/signed contracts;
  • Dispute/claims handling: investigating merits and managing settlement of disputes and claims from contract parties post-signature;
  • Producing post-contract action lists, deal summaries, risk profiles, major risk items/concessions and other reporting;
  • Liaising with business units to monitor contract compliance, including compliance with employment contracts; and
  • Supporting maintenance of documentation on databases, archives, etc.


  • LLB from an Indian university

Relevant work experience

  • 6-8 years’ experience in a law firm or in-house corporate legal department;
  • Experience drafting and reviewing documents for routine commercial transactions to expedite negotiation and conclude deals;
  • A team player who relates well with management and counterparties;
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of independent reasoning, excellent analytical judgment and a strong business acumen;
  • Must have experience supporting multiple matters simultaneously;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation and presentation skills with the ability to effectively interact with numerous business units;
  • Meticulous attention to detail and superior organizational skills; and
  • Candidate should have been licensed to practice law in India.
