Key Professional Requirements:

  • At least an India law degree (Bachelor of Laws) from a recognized university in India.
  • Experience in practicing India law, familiar with India legal industry practices and norms, relevant industrial standards, and ability to navigate cutting-edge legal developments and advice on business requirements.
  • >6 years of experience practicing law in an India law firm and/or in-house legal department. In-house experience in a tech company is preferable.
  • Preferable background in corporate law, labour law, international M&A, and TMT.
  • Ability to work independently, remotely and with international teams across time zones.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to plan and strategize practical, efficient business solutions within a legal framework, and to communicate with cross-functional teams.
  • Corporate secretarial qualifications preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating and reviewing data protection policies, terms of use, data transfer agreements, license agreements, and other legal documentation required for an online platform and a tech company.
  • Advising on labour law issues in India, identifying and resolving legal risks in relation to the movement, employment, and treatment of workers and labour issues across different states and provinces in India.
  • Negotiating, writing, and reviewing legal documents.
  • Advising on a variety of legal issues.
  • Research and advise on developments in India law.
  • Liaising and communication with government authorities.
  • Assisting with corporate secretarial work.
  • Liaising and instruction of external counsel.
  • Working together with legal team in Singapore.
