Criminal Justice and Police Accountability Project [CPA Project] is opening internship opportunities for law students.
About the organisation
The Criminal Justice and Police Accountability Project (CPA Project) is a research and litigation intervention working to build accountability against the unjust criminalisation of marginalised communities, and towards decarceration.
About the internship
The work will involve research on the disproportionate impact of criminal laws on marginalised communities and assisting with litigation before the High Court.
Location
Remote. CPA Project might consider applications for in person internships for those residing in Bhopal.
Who can apply?
Law students. Preference will be given to students in their penultimate or final year of law school, and those adept at working with data.
CPA Project encourages women, queer and gender non-conforming individuals, persons from Adivasi, Dalit, ex-criminalised/DNT/nomadic, other Bahujan and religious minority communities, persons with disabilities and others from LGBTQIA+ communities to apply.
Stipend
Rs 8,000 per month.
Duration of Internship
6 – 8 weeks from November 2020 to January 2021. (20 – 25 hours of work every week.)
