Feminist Multilogues, Delhi & Sangat – A Feminist Network present an in-depth conversation on feminist engagement with insitutionalised religion as well as personal faith with Uma Chakravarty and Syeda Hameed.
Uma Chakravarty is a renowned feminist historian and filmmaker. She has written extensively on early India, the 19th Century as well as contemporary issues of violence within families, custodial violence, sexual violence and impunity.
Syeda Hameed is a feminist, a writer and former member of the Planning Commission and National Commission for Women. She is also the founder of Muslim Women’s Forum and is known for her passionate engagement with social issues, particularly for women, minorities and peace.
The session will be moderated by South Asian feminist activist Kamla Bhasin.
