Centre for Civil Society in collaboration with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation (FNF) is organising a one-day online workshop-conference title Fake News Conference on July 26.
The Fake New Conference (FNC) will bring together 30 journalists, media professionals and media students, with policy and domain experts and leading liberal thought-leaders to dialogue on the state of the media, the limits of disinformation, misinformation and fake news, and the role of the media in protecting and furthering freedoms.
The conference is conceptualised as an online, in-depth discussion, dialogue, and workshop on fake news and fact-checking. It provides participants with an opportunity to disentangle themselves from the distractions of everyday life to reflect on issues of fundamental and enduring importance.
Participants will be expected to share their advanced understandings of the relationship between disinformation, public policy and regulatory frameworks, and personal freedoms and human rights to develop innovative ideas and approaches for bringing specific policy solutions to advance liberal perspectives in media regulation today.
