About the MOOC

Centre for Civil Society (CCS) is conducting a MOOC on Liberalism in India.

What is a MOOC?

MOOC stands for Massive Open Online Course. MOOCs are courses delivered online and accessible to all. MOOCs typically comprise of video lessons, readings, assessments, and discussion forums.

As all lectures are pre-recorded, and available online, students can learn at their own pace, either on weekends, weekdays, mornings or night, as per their convenience. For example, certification courses run on Udemy or Coursera are MOOC’s.

About the Course

This course, while in no way close to an exhaustive look at the history of liberalism, often considered to be western in origin, seeks to look at liberalism from an Indian perspective. It deals with aspects of both personal and economic liberty and dwells on liberalism in Indian cinema, sports, and economy.

There are 5 separate modules, each with MCQ quizzes, followed by a final e-Assessment.

Learners will be eligible to receive a certificate once they complete the entire course and score at least 50/100 in the e-assessment.

What is the timeline for the current batch?

Unlike Udemy of Coursera MOOCs, the MOOC on Liberalism in India is not open throughout the year. It is open for a month and a half at a time so that we can enroll in different cohorts.

Enrollment for this batch has begun. You can immediately register and start the course.

  • Course end date: 30th November.
  • Enrollment closes: 31st October

Fee: Rs. 1500/-

Who is this Course for?

The course will be beneficial for students and enthusiasts of political philosophy, political science, political history, public policy, and law, among others.
