About the Program
The Centre for Civil Society is pleased to invite you to a Virtual Campus Talk on the topic From Annadata to Farmpreneur: Liberalising Agriculture with Mr. Sudhanshu Neema, Policy Analyst & Consultant, on 3rd October 2020 from 6:00 – 7:30 pm IST.
The Virtual Campus Talk will be conducted in collaboration with Economics, Politics and Social Science (EPS) Society of Indian Institute of Management – Kozhikode. The Campus Talk is part of the Indian Liberals Project (www.indianliberals.in) and is supported by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom.
The session will begin with an overview of the distress in the agricultural sector in India and then proceed to diagnose its causes. The diagnosis will focus exclusively on the various policies and schemes which have unintentionally excluded Indian farmers from participating in India’s growth story. Afterwards, the speaker will outline some of the solutions that could lead farmers to prosperity, and share his thoughts on changing the romanticised view of Annadatas and treating them as Farmpreneurs.
