International Criminal Court Convicts Brigade Commander Ongwen on 61 Counts of Crimes Against Humanity and War Crimes

On 4th February 2021, Trial Chamber IX, of the International Criminal Court (ICC) found former brigade commander Dominic Ongwen guilty of 61 (charged with 70) counts of crimes against humanity and war crimes committed in Northern Uganda between 1st July 2002 to 31st December 2005. The charges included murder, attempted murder, rape, slavery, enslavement, destruction of property, and persecution amongst others.
