Bombay high court gives its approval to Amarchand Mangaldas split

Amarchand Mangaldas Suresh A Shroff, the most reputed and largest law firm in India is finally split up after the decree passed by Bombay High Court after a long third party mediation of six months. High Court explicated as partition being the most effective method of the dispute between the brothers Cyril and Shradul.

Cyril Shroff being one of the managing partners managed Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad offices whereas Shardul being the other managing partner managed Delhi region including Kolkata, Ahemdabad and Guragaon offices. Bharti Shroff mother of Cyril and Shradul was holding 22.5percent share in the firm of which she gave majority of the share to Shradul, in effect Cyril approached Bombay High Court and contested the property allocation in the will. A three member mediation panel consisting of retired Supreme Court Judge Justice B.N. SriKrishna, Senior Advocate Harish Salve and renowned investment banker Nimesh Kampani was setup by the High Court to resolve the dispute.

The split of Amarchand Mangaldas Suresh A Shroff was made official on 6th May, 2015 whereby the Bombay High Court has accepted the arbitral award and granted probate to the will and finally disposed of the suit.
