Sleepiz, a Zurich based medtech startup, is looking for a Patent Analyst for their Pune office. This role will work directly with the co-founders to devise and strengthen the company’s IP for their sleep monitoring inventions.
Responsibilities:
– Be responsible for company’s legal compliance and protection
– Collaborate with R&D professionals, engineers and data scientists to protect inventions
– Conduct research on and/or file trademarks/patents/copyright/design registration as and when required appropriately
– Develop internal policies and reporting to ensure the best protection of intellectual property for the company
– Conduct a Freedom to Operate search for the company’s products at timely intervals
– Draft contracts and negotiate with external lawyers on behalf of the company
– Provide guidance on patentability and other ad-hoc legal questions that may arise This role reports to the CEO.
Eligibility:
– LLB (Hons.) or PG or certificate course in IP with 2+ years of relevant work experience in-house at a law firm
– Strong knowledge of IP laws of countries such as the EU especially, India and the USA and experience with patent research and analysis
– Excellent drafting skills
– Strong knowledge and experience with contract management and ensuring the company is complying with all laws and limit any legal risks
– Strong research skills and the ability to simplify complex information
– Concise verbal and written communication skills
– Be proactive in anticipating and flagging any potential legal concerns for the company
