Rejection of Proposal for Appointment Based on Vice-Chancellor’s Dissent Is Unsustainable: Kerala High Court

A petition was filed challenging the Exhibit issued stating that the proposal for approval of the Petitioner’s appointment was being returned since the Petitioner was unqualified for appointment to the post when the vacancy was notified. Hence, her appointment was inconsistent with the UGC Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers and Other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and other Measures for the Maintenance of Standards of Higher Education Regulations, 2010.

Enforcement Directorate Can’t Appeal Under Section 26 of Prevention of Money Laundry Act, 2002: Calcutta High Court 

In the case in point of an appeal issued by the learned tribunal for prevention of money laundering Act, 2002, the appeal is directed against a decision dated 1 January 2021 stating, through the assistant director of the office of the Department of Execution of Kolkata, alleged to have been maintained according to Article 26 of the Prevention of money laundering Act 2002.

Requirement as to Notices Under Cochin Christian Civil Marriage Act Can Be Waived on Equitable Grounds and Peculiar Circumstances: Kerala High Court

On the 3rd day of June 2021, a writ petition was filed by an Indian citizen and another being the citizen of the United States (U.S.). The civil writ petition sought the direction of the court towards Respondents for solemnizing the marriage between them. The petition was filed in the Honourable High Court of Kerala and was heard by the learned single judge, i.e., Honourable Justice N. Nagaresh.

Compassionate Approach May Be Considered Due to Ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic: Kerala High Court

 On 4th June 2021, the Honourable High Court of Kerala heard a civil Writ Petition. The Petitioners prayed for providing an extension in the time by the Respondents, i.e., Bank, for clearing the liability and delay any recovery proceedings that can be initiated. The case was argued before the learned single judge bench, before Honourable Justice N. Nagaresh.
