A petition filed by Sushant Singh Rajput’s sisters was reserved by the Bombay HC on Thursday. The court said that one could make out from Sushant Singh Rajput’s face that he is an innocent man.
The petition was filed by the Rajput sisters seeking to quash the FIR filed against them by Rhea Chakraborty for alleged fabrication and forgery of the medical prescription of the late actor. This petition was stayed by the Supreme court.
Justice Shinde’s remarks were that
“Whatever the case may be, from Sushant Singh Rajput’s face one could make out that he was an innocent and sober and a good human being,”.
He added that everyone liked him, especially in the film Dhoni.
In the FIR that was lodged by Rhea on September 7th 2020, apart from the sisters, there was a mention of Doctor Tarun Kumar from Delhi Ram Manohar Lohia hospital. He along with the sisters are alleged to have fabricated fake prescriptions so that Sushant could buy anti- depressants.
Advocate Vikas Singh argued in the court on behalf of the sisters that according to the telemedical guidelines medicines can be prescribed by a doctor after an online consultation. He added that due to the coronavirus pandemic Sushant Singh Rajput could not have physically visited the doctor hence, the online prescription.
Senior Counsel Devdutt on the other hand argued on behalf of the Mumbai police that there was no online consultation taken. This could be proven by the chat between Sushant and his sister on June 8th, 2020 which showed that Priyanka procured the prescription without any consultation.
The police had evidence to show that an unidentified man went into the OPD of Ram Manohar Lohia hospital took the token and asked for the prescription from the accused doctor Tarun Kumar. Rhea Chakraborty’s advocate Satish Maneshinde observed that Sushant Singh Rajput’s death could have been caused due to a “dangerous cocktail of drugs and narcotic substances and medicines”.
He stated that Sushant was under Rhea’s care for 14 months before June 8th after which he told her to leave, during that period Rhea ensured Sushant took his medicines and did not mix them with drugs.
Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his apartment on June 14th, 2020, after which his father KK Singh filed charges of cheating, money laundering, and abetting his son’s suicide on Rhea and her family. The case later got transferred to the CBI who is currently probing into the actor’s death.
