PIL Filed in Telangana High Court against Operation of Illegal Stone Crushing Units

A Notice has been issued by the Telangana High Court to the state and Central Government, its Pollution Control Boards, and collectors, concerned for filing a counter-affidavit against a Public Interest Litigation which complained about the lack of performance of duties by the authorities who failed to prevent the establishment and failure of unauthorized and illegal stone crushing units in the districts of Rangareddy and Sangareddy.

Mere Holding/ Touching Hand without Sexual Intent not amounts to Sexual Assault Under POCSO: Bombay HC

The Bombay High Court has granted anticipatory bail to a man who was alleged for holding the hand of a 17-year-old while expressing his love to her. The Bombay High Court stated that mere holding or touching the hand without sexual intention will not amount to sexual assault under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.

Illegal Construction near Qutub Minar, Delhi High Court directed ASI to look into the matter

Taking note of the illegal and unauthorized construction of about 40m near Qutub Minar, an ASI protected heritage monument, the Delhi High Court directed the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and the Zonal Deputy Commissioner of the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) to look into the matter of the failure of duties and fix the responsibility of the officers.
