JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position will be based pout Pune (Head Office)

Should be able to deal with and take care of all the work of Corporate Legal independently and also guide his Individual Contributor [IC] Team Members [as in team development in (xxiii)] hereinbelow], and should also have following requirements:

Roles & Responsibilities :

(i) Must have good knowledge of Insurance Laws and all the Central/State Laws, including property laws, Labour laws, criminal laws etc., with strong research ability on legal issues with inclination to research and update HOD/himself on latest laws, judgments of Supreme Court of India/High Courts. Also has to take care of Tracking, examining and acting upon the IRDAI regulations/guidelines on day-to-day basis and see what precautions or documents are to be taken to comply with IRDA regulations, from time to time.

(ii)   Must have strong drafting skills with Preparation/drafting and finalise and advise all standard and other documents/agreements required for the General Insurance business of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company Ltd and to vet and finalise the agreements/MOU proposed by tie up partners/vendors/service providers etc., and also to help Head Corporate Legal in continuous updating the manuals/standard documents.

(iii)    Preparation/drafting and finalise and advise the lease agreements, leave and license agreements, and all other related issues/documents/agreements required for taking/giving the premises on lease/leave and license by Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company Ltd, Attending to Condominium matters.

(iv)   Prepare suitable sale deed and other title transfer documents for purchase of immovable properties and the property tax and other issues relating to the own properties/leased properties.

(v)   Should be able to advise and guide on all legal aspects relating to the business of the company.

(vi)     Should be able to take care of compliance of all the legal compliances of our company.

(vii)    Attend to the meetings and or negotiate with and finalise the terms and conditions of the legal documents/agreements and to suitably modify the documents.

(viii)  Should attend to all the court cases/ Arbitration matters of our company, including writs and other cases, drafting writ petitions/plaints/replies/WS/applications etc., and liaise and follow up the case with advocates.

(ix)      Should attend to, advise and provide suitable documentation on the staff/employee/HR matters/Labour law related issues/cases/agreements, including issues relating to Disciplinary action matters, policies drafting and or revision/vetting and suitably take steps to safeguard the interest of company in regard to all staff/employee related matters.

(x)     Should be conversant with all labour laws and labour compliance and guide the company on the same from time to time apart from taking steps to comply with the labour laws.

(xi)    Should attend to all the matters relating to claims against our company.

(xii)      Should attend to all the criminal cases by or against our company, including to examine the case, decide whether fit for filing FIR by our company, and to draft FIR and advise offices suitably in the matter.

(xiii) Should attend to the drafting of policy Terms and Conditions, Policy Schedule, and product related documents, proposals, renewals, and related issues.

(xiv)   Should attend to the drafting and advising on the documents/agreement that are relating to supplier/vendor, IT service providers, manpower outsourcing and related legal issues/documentation etc.,

(xv)   To attend, advise and provide suitable reply on IRDAI complaints matters by duly taking into consideration legal provisions and also to suitable examine and advise on important correspondence with IRDAI.

(xvi)   Should attend to and take care of all the types of agreements/MOU that are required to be entered by our company with Banks/FI.

(xvii)   To take care of preparing and issuing suitable POA/LOA to eligible employees and follow up the same from time to time and maintain proper MIS.

(xviii)     Should travel [at very short notice] to any part PAN India and complete/take care of the requirements of company’s legal issues/cases.

(xix) Should work under guidance/advice of Head Corporate Legal/reporting authority and update him on day-to-day basis as to all issues relating to Corporate Legal, attending work within TAT without keeping the matters pending etc.

(xx)   Should suitably work in coordination with all Team Members/IC, Second Level Manager, other SLM’s, National Head Corporate Legal and other superiors, advise, guide and groom all Team Member IC’s on day-to-day work of corporate legal and mentor them with patience.

(xxi)   Must be dynamic with sufficient exposure to work on computer with sufficient speed and work in internet/network environment. All the work to be attended personally through computers or other modes.

(xxii)  Generally, to guide the company on all legal matters and take steps to comply with all legal requirements.

(xxiii) Team development

  • Establish performance KPI for IC expectations and regularly review individual performance of the IC tagged to FLM.
  • Guide IC tagged to FLM on various smatters and groom them in the matters.
  • Identify and create development opportunities for IC to enhance functional knowledge.

(xxiv) Automation of Corporate Legal and working on requirements of such automation,

(xxv) ISO certification of Corporate Legal and work for the compliance of the same from time to time.

(xxvi) Maintain and update the proper MIS for all the work of Corporate Legal and track them, maintain to abide by TAT and see team follow the TAT, from time to time and submit suitable regular statements to management, from time to time.

(xxvi) Prepare proper SOPs from time to time and update them on continuous basis.
