About the role & What you’ll do:

  • Strategic thinking ability to advise business on labour and employment matters, contract interpretation, breach and remedies, contract compliance requirements. Research into new labour and employment regulations and legal regime of new domains of business and advice on regulatory requirements, legal risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Drafting and reviewing, various commercial agreements and documents – Primarily manpower deployment both SLA and Headcount based.
  • Commercial contracts: Demonstrated (hands on experience) subject matter knowledge in drafting, negotiating and closing following types of documentation;
    • Consultancy Agreement,
    • Manpower service Agreements,
    • HR agreements with third party service providers,
    • Manpower related documentation,
    • Services agreements, inter-company contracts, employment contracts, Non-Disclosure Agreement and ancillary agreements, etc.
  • Institutionalizing best practices for manpower contracts and documentation with an objective to increase efficiencies.
  • Research and analysis of various policies, bills, amendments, notifications, relating to labour laws, employment, etc.
  • Assist in designing and reviewing policies, guidelines and procedures to assist the drive of employment compliance across the enterprise. Areas of scope include all company hiring practices, wages, discrimination/harassment, workplace violence, accessibility and other employment obligations. Manage the implementation of employment compliance programs, systems and training.
  • Initiates cross-functional efforts to drive organizational alignment and ensure compliance with employment obligations.
  • Articulates corporate positions on compliance matters to regulators and external agencies and directs involvement with regulators to ensure compliance with all legal requirements.
  • Develop external relationships and alliances with law firms and advocates strengthening the capabilities of the labour and employment function.

What you will need?

  • LLB from a reputed Law College with experience in corporate laws, labour and employment laws and cases, contracts drafting and compliance. In-house legal experience in the corporate function reputed company is mandatory.  Law firm or MNC experience is preferable, but not mandatory.
  • 10-14 years of experience in corporate legal, commercial contracts, and business advisory work
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills, including ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced dynamic business environment.
  • Enable business without compromising on the process.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Good team player with a collaborative approach in completing assignments.
  • Meticulous and punctual.
  • Leverage business understanding / functional expertise to deliver value to stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills and excellent command over English (both oral and written) with the ability to interface with people across all levels in the organization

Deep knowledge of labour and employment law, expert level experience in interpretation of law and practical expertise in labour and employment. Strategic thinker with execution excellence. Contract review and drafting expert with ability to effectively manage demanding stakeholders.
