Think India Legal Activism Forum cordially invites you for an insightful session on the theme “Importance of RTI and Judicial Activism” slated to be organized on October 04, 2020 at 5 pm IST.

About the Speaker

Subhash Chandra Agrawal would be the resource person for the session. He is an Indian businessman and right to information activist. He holds the Guinness World Record for having written the most published letters to newspaper editors (Over 6000 RTI applications filed so far).

There are various landmark judgements on transparency in India.

CPIO, Supreme Court of India v. Subhash Chandra Agrawal: It was held that Chief Justice of India is a “public authority” and comes within the meaning of Right to Information Act (RTI). He also happens to be the reason as to why the judges are required to share the details of their assets.

Mr. Agrawal’s activism dates back to 1967, when he had written a newspaper article when he was not issued a ticket by the bus conductor employed by the Delhi Transport Corporation.
