About UPES

The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies is a Private university in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. It was established in 2003 through the UPES Act, 2003, of the State Legislature of Uttarakhand.

Professor Dr. Vijay Kumar Singh, Dean, School of Law: Dr. Vijay Kumar Singh is the Dean and the former Head of the Department of Law and Management at the UPES School of Law. Before this, he has worked with the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, the Competition Commission of India and the Hidayatullah National Law University in various capacities.

Eligibility

LLB: Minimum 50% marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level (X & XII).

LLM

  • Minimum 50% marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level (X & XII).
  • Minimum 50% marks in Graduation with LL.B. Degree or equivalent.

Eligibility Criteria for Scholarships

25% Scholarship for Girl Students: 25% scholarship will be offered on tuition fees of complete program duration for all girl students taking admission in any of the UG or PG programs for 2020 intake.

Up to 50% merit based scholarships: Scholarship will be offered to students securing an aggregate of 80% marks in class X & XII & 80% marks in CBSE/ICSE/State Examination Board.

Eligibility criteria: 75% marks in class X & XII

  • 100% tuition fee waiver for rank 1-1000 in CLAT or 95.01+ % tile in LSAT.
  • 85% tuition fee waiver for rank 1001-2000 in CLAT or 90.01 to 95.00+ % tile in LSAT.
  • 75% tuition fee waiver for rank 2001-3000 in CLAT or 85.00 to 90.00+ % tile in LSAT.
  • 50% tuition fee waiver on 10% seats of each program in first Semester for CBSE, ICSE & State Board pass out students
  • Uttarakhand State Board Toppers Scholarships in LL.B. Program.
  • 150 toppers from UK State Board.
  • Merit order allotment of 1 seat per program.
  • The seats reserved under this category will be within the 15% reservation for Uttarakhand Resident students.
  • Should have “Sthai Niwas Praman Patra” (Permanent Residence Certificate).
  • Students will be entitled only for 1 scholarship at a time (either through Uttarakhand Board Toppers or through Uttarakhand Resident category).
  • Scholarship in subsequent years will be as per merit scholarship policy of the University.

LL.M. Scholarship Eligibility

  • Minimum 75% in 10th, 12th & Graduation
  • Scholarships – 50% waiver on 10% seats in each program
